CGS Expands Business and Support in Asia

Friday, February 27, 2004

Press release from the issuing company

Hainburg, Germany (February 26, 2004) -- In response to the growing popularity of ORIS proofing technology in the region, CGS Publishing Technologies International has appointed Build East Graphics in Malaysia as its primary Asian reseller and support resource for the award-winning ORIS product line. Effective immediately, the company will be the exclusive ORIS reseller in 21 countries, from the Middle East to Mongolia, and will be a non-exclusive reseller in 4 other countries, including China. The appointment is part of CGS’ expanded worldwide ORIS product support, which is part of the company’s planned ORIS Global Proofing initiative, to be launched at Drupa 2004. Build East Graphics, formerly exclusive dealers for Bestcolor and Absolute Proof, made the change because of CGS’ superior color proofing technology, automated workflows and proofing-specific ink and media, according to Managing Director Kenny Lai. Commenting on the continued growth of the color proofing industry in the region, Lai said, “With CGS’ award-winning ORIS Color Tuner and ORIS Certified Proof solutions, we are the market leaders, and see Asia Pacific as a cornerstone of growth.” Regional Support Centre Build East Graphics will also add full ORIS product support to its regional support centre, which already provides in-depth technical support for both hardware and software in prepress workflow, RIPs, CTP and other areas. “With Build East Graphics in Asia, we are implementing professional service and support for CGS,” said regional Sales Director Christoph Thommessen. “We are able to offer our customers something that has not really been possible in the past.” In addition to ORIS Color Tuner, Build East will also sell and support CGS’ other products, including ORIS PDF Tuner (formerly ORIS Page) and its flexible workflow system, ORIS Works.
