Schreckhase Invests in Four New Speedmaster XL 106

Press release from the issuing company

At drupa 2012, German print shop Schreckhase invested in 36 printing units of the new generation Speedmaster XL 106 from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). All in all, this major order includes four presses amounting to an order value in the double-digit million Euro range. The first of these, the Speedmaster XL-106-8-P exhibited at drupa 2012, was delivered to Schreckhase immediately after the show and is currently being installed. Equipped with the Prinect Inpress Control spectral inline measuring system, the AutoPlate XL automatic plate changer, the Universal non-stop delivery, the InkStar central ink supply system, and a top speed of 18,000 sph even in perfecting mode, the overall productivity will be increased significantly. "We want to provide our customers with high-quality products and services with the greatest possible cost-effectiveness," explains Managing Director Matthias Schreckhase. "The new presses will strengthen our market position and the portfolio of surface finishing services we offer, and we will be able to offer the productivity benefits of perfecting technology for dispersion coating, too."
The full-service print shop founded in 1971 has a workforce of over 190 and is well known for its quality of advice, excellent service, state-of-the-art machine park and particularly for its extensive postpress portfolio. It supplies discerning customers from publishing houses, industry, advertising, and agencies throughout Europe.

Schreckhase currently employs thirty Speedmaster XL 105 printing units and processes around 10,000 metric tons of paper each year. The expansion in capacity is being accompanied by an increase in production area from 8,000 to 11,000 m². An optimized logistics hall and a new pressroom for the four new Speedmaster XL 106 presses will be constructed in several phases.
