Camis Ambalaj Buys Rapida 145

Press release from the issuing company

Camis Ambalaj in Istanbul will be the first printer in Turkey to fire up a KBA's new Rapida 145. On the first day of Drupa a delegation headed by plant manager Mehmet Akinci saw their press in action for the first time.

Camis Ambalaj is owned by Sisecam, one of the world's biggest manufacturers of glass and itself partly owned by a Turkish bank, Isbank. Shortly after Drupa, on 22 May, the 235-employee company will celebrate its 25th jubilee. At Drupa 2008 Camis placed an order for a plinth-mounted six-colour Rapida 142 with coater and UV capability for packaging applications. It mainly prints packaging for flat, household and laboratory glass. The printed sheets are generally laminated onto corrugated. The new Rapida 145 will ship in October this year. It will also be a six-colour version with coater and UV capability, will have a triple delivery extension and be mounted on a 630mm (24.85in) plinth. The 15,000sph press (with High-Speed package 17,000sp) will incorporate automatic plate changers, nonstop systems at the feeder and delivery and DensiTronic Professional colorimetry (density, Lab, colour spectrum). The DensiTronic Professional desk will be installed on a catwalk linking the old and the new presses so that it can be used for both.

According to Camis Ambalaj management, what made it opt for a second large-format KBA press was its confidence in Rapida technology and the outstanding service provided by KBA's Turkish agency Dereli Graphics.
