INX Digital’s Prodigy All About Integration at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Nearly 15 months after introducing the printing industry to the Prodigy™ brand line of products, INX Digital International continues to make tremendous progress helping conventional printers evolve to digital printing.  The next step takes place at drupa 2012 (Stand 3A50), where the focus of attention is on integration.  As part of its Visual Communication Technologies emphasis, SAKATA INX Group – including INX Digital and INX International Ink Co. – will have plenty of hardware on display throughout the 13-day event from May 3-16.

INX Digital International manufactures and distributes inkjet inks and toners for a variety of industrial markets.  Prodigy serves the Graphic Arts industry directly through OEMs, Integrators and print head companies within the digital market.  These products typically are used for billboards, banners, vehicle and building wraps and other large format output.  On the Industrial side of the business, Prodigy targets markets such as textile, wood grain, both plastic and metal packaging, even the medical industry and many others, with a well-balanced portfolio of chemistries including UV, water and solvent-based products.

At drupa, INX Digital International President Ken Kisner said the Bergstein and Neolt printers will be in operation utilizing Xaar and Kyocera print head technology, and using INX Digital inks and fluids to create various showcase applications.

“Our relationship with leading American, European and Japanese print head manufacturers has been instrumental to our success.  Developing inks closely with Integrators and Print Head companies together allows for a fast and accurate path to market, and our Research & Development division has provided us with unparalleled technology that will allow an application to be printed digitally when it was not possible before.”

Recently, Prodigy was used to help with new opportunities in the packaging market, including test marketing, prototyping, serialization and mass customization.  During the various hardware demonstrations, SAKATA INX Group specialists will be on hand to answer questions and provide additional details.

“Much of our investment in Prodigy from nearly two years ago is starting to be seen and realized in commercialization today.  Prodigy continues to display explosive growth and expand into many new and different markets, and I’m positive that being on the world’s stage at drupa will lead us into new territory with this brand,” exclaimed Kisner.

“For example, digital package printing is a market we are excited about but there are many others that Prodigy can fulfill.  We have a number of UV, curable, water based and solvent based inkjet solutions with special applications for packaging and other types of printing.  Our products are extremely flexible and offer excellent adhesion to a wide variety of flexible media.  In today’s printing world, you need to dare to be different.  Prodigy will help lead the way to make a printer’s business stand out in their market.”
