Xitron Product Demos and Previews at drupa

Xitron, a leading developer of open prepress workflow systems, will highlight its full array of prepress and pressroom workflow at drupa May 3-16 in Hall 15, Stand A23-5 including inkjet to film, inkjet to polyester plate, new USB interfaces for Heidelberg Prosetter, Agfa CtP and Screen CtP with Windows 7 64-bit support and its next generation Navigator Workflow Server including a preview of the Mobile Proofing app for iOS and Android.

The Navigator Workflow Server is the foundation for Xitron’s prepress and pressroom workflow products including the Navigator GPS, Navigator Elite and KeySetter Connect ink key presetting software. Xitron will preview the next generation of the Navigator Workflow Server including a unique mobile proofing app for iOS and Android.

Mobile Proofing Navigator workflow users the ability to move beyond the traditional prepress workflow with:

  • Integration with Navigator workflow products
  • Automated client notification via email
  • Job approval/rejection on a page by page basis
  • Ability to comment on rejected jobs/pages and send directly to prepress department
  • Patent pending technology

Xitron’s Navigator Workflow helps prepress operators increase productivity, manage workflow, and reduce costs. An intuitive interface allows operators to manage their work from a Windows or Macintosh workstation, while directing output production through one or more Harlequin RIPs.

Navigator direct-to-film workflow incorporates a wide selection of user-requested features and options, including:

  • Device support for Epson Stylus Pro 4900, 7700, 7890, 7900, 9700, 9890 and 9900
  • Ability to output film positive up to 1440 x 1440 dpi with 85 line screen for screen printing
  • Ability to output film negatives up to 2880 x 2880 with 150 line screens for flexo and commercial printing
  • User controllable job management and ticketing capabilities
  • Integrated soft proofing
  • Printer device control at operator workstations

Navigator direct-to-plate workflow features:

  • Device support for Epson Stylus Pro 4900, 7700, 7890, 7900, 9700, 9890 and 9900
  • Ability to output polyester plates up to 2880 x 2880
  • User controllable job management and ticketing capabilities
  • Integrated soft proofing
  • Printer device control at operator workstations

Xitron’s USB interfaces are compatible with Xitron’s full line of workflow products including the Navigator workflow based on Harlequin RIP core technology, Xenith Sierra based on the Adobe PDF Print Engine and Raster Blaster, a TIFF catcher capable of accepting TIFF files from a variety of third-party workflow systems and outputting to any of the hundreds of devices support by Xitron.

The Xitron USB interfaces for Heidelberg ProSetter, Agfa CtP and Screen CtP provides:

  • Support for Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems
  • Simple connectivity via USB
  • Compatibility with Navigator workflow,  Xenith Sierra workflow and Raster Blaster TIFF catcher

Raster Blaster accepts standard 1-bit TIFF files from virtually any prepress workflow. The Xitron device interface converts the TIFF to the appropriate output format to drive the specific CtP, direct imaging press or imagesetter.
