WOCG and Its ‘Champions’ in Russia

Press release from the issuing company

The Web Offset Champion Group (WOCG) announces four that Best Practice Guide in the Russian language are now available for download by joining the Web Offset Champions Group. (membership is free, join on line at www.weboffsetchampions.com ) The fifth, sixth and seventh Guides will be available shortly, and Guide eight will be translated and serialised this year in Publish Russia magazine in association with the printer Premier Polygraphic Kombinat.

"We have been cooperating with WOCG since 2005 and have already published in Russian several Best Practice Guides and one Poster, says Igor Terentyev, Editor-in-chief of Publish (Russia), Moscow. Our readers love these Guides because they are unique and unbeatable sources of priceless practical information for web offset printers. It's always better to do something right from the start then to correct mistakes. Read the Guides and do it right first time."

In 2012, Premier Polygraphic Kombinat (PPK) will be the sponsor to publish the Russian version of  WOCG’s latest guide ‘Perfectly Finished Web Products’. PPK is a leading Russian printer that opened Moscow’s most modern printing centre in 2008 operating eight manroland web offset presses and Muller Martini postpress lines.

Vladimir Eshchenko, PPK Business Director: “The diversity of modern postpress technologies provides almost infinite creative potential for designers. However, the visual effect of the publication, the consumer attitude to itand its life cycle depend largely on the quality of finishing. The final – postpress – stage of the job is a key element in an integrated process, where interaction of all participants in the process chain – designers, publishers, printers – is critical for the end result, even if that is not obvious. This stage often lacks efficient communication and it becomes difficult to tell where exactly things went wrong.

“The WOCG Guide ‘Perfectly Finished Web Printed Products’ brings together the most important issues determining communication and collaboration of all elements across the print process chain and affecting the quality and efficiency of the finishing stage. Detailed examination of every process throws light on potential causes of challenges and possible sources of problems.

“Premier Polygraphic Kombinat are pleased to take part in the Russian edition of this Guide produced by WOCG who are one of the most competent organizations in the global graphic arts industry. We hope that the translated edition will be an invaluable help to Russian print service providers and will become a reference book for everyone taking part in print production,” concludes Vladimir Eshchenko.

‘Perfectly Finished Web Printed Products’ is also published in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. It is available from WOCG members Aylesford Newsprint, Kodak, manroland web systems, MEGTEC, Müller Martini, Quad Tech, SCA and Sun Chemical
