KODAK PRINERGY Workflow 6 to be Demonstrated at drupa 2012

Press release from the issuing company

Kodak will debut the latest version of the award-winning KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System to a global audience at drupa 2012 (Hall 5, F09-1). PRINERGY Workflow is widely used among commercial print and packaging companies seeking increased prepress capabilities, customizable automation, third-party integration, and advanced color and screening proficiencies. The newest version of PRINERGY Workflow goes even further by providing unified job management driven by production intent, resulting in reduced costs in the manufacturing process.

“Efficiency improvements are required long before the actual print production process,” noted Jon Bracken, Kodak’s General Manager of Unified Workflow Solutions. “PRINERGY Workflow is well known for the reduction of manual touch points and savings through its automation capabilities. PRINERGY Workflow 6 takes optimization further to address the entire production planning process, driving equipment and manufacturing capabilities based on customer intent.”

In the new solution, PRINERGY Workflow captures product and processing information, reducing the time customer service representatives, production planners, and prepress operators collectively need to spend on preparing optimized production plans. Jobs are now planned with a customizable interface, automated and easily monitored across multiple devices.

PRINERGY Workflow 6 is the result of an extensive global voice-of-customer (VOC) process to deliver the features and capabilities required to maximize their workflow investment. “The reaction has been exceptional,” said Bracken. “The VOC process enabled our customers—packaging, publishing and commercial—to largely drive the requirements for PRINERGY Workflow 6. The result is a user-driven workflow solution for blended production environments, which was the goal.”
