ATLANTA, Feb. 5 -- MeadWestvaco Packaging Systems, LLC, a unit of MeadWestvaco Corporation, today announced that it has reached the settlement of the U.S. patent dispute with Graphic Packaging Corporation (formerly Riverwood International Corporation) regarding its FridgeMaster refrigerator dispenser-style cartons. As part of the settlement, MeadWestvaco Packaging Systems and Graphic Packaging have entered into a non-exclusive global cross-licensing agreement that enables both companies to market the technology freely worldwide. "We are especially pleased to resolve this dispute, which preserves and continues our substantial long-term relationship with the Coca-Cola System," said Bill Biedenharn, president of MeadWestvaco Packaging Systems. "This resolution also ensures that we can compete freely and effectively in the marketplace based solely on the value of our products and services to our customers."
