Press release from the issuing company

Workflow automation plays a critical role in the speedy delivery of printed material, a topic that is the focus of the 2012 Automation Solutions Network meeting in Memphis, Tenn., on January 31 and February 1. At a printer panel presentation at the event, James Cozart, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at online printing firm 48HourPrint.com, will discuss how automated workflows enable the company to process hundreds of print jobs daily.

Joining Cozart on the panel is Chuck Gehman, Vice President of Product Platforms at Mimeo.com, an online document printing company that’s hosting the meeting at its Memphis site. Attendees will be treated to a private tour of the Mimeo.com facility and a nearby FedEx facility to see the latest workflow automation practices firsthand, according to Cozart.

“We’re excited to have 48HourPrint.com and Mimeo.com participating in this meeting, as they bring different flavors in B2B printing,” said Brandon Iskey, JDF certification program administrator at Printing Industries of America and organizer of the event. “Their participation on the printer panel will provide insight into how each organization moves specific jobs through the workflow, allowing attendees to see the benefits of reducing touch points through workflow automation.”

Headquartered in Boston, with plants in Arizona and Ohio, and a software engineering team and creative services group in New Hampshire, 48HourPrint.com offers 40 high-quality products printed offset and digitally in a variety of standard sizes, as well as custom products in virtually any size. Offerings also include specialty services like spot PMS colors, rounded corners, perforating, die-cutting, scratch-off tabs, binding, and personalized printing and mailing.

“Our automated, easy-to-use online ordering and proofing system streamlines the printing process, so we can offer customers our 24 Hour and 48 Hour Turnaround Guarantees,” Cozart said. “Workflow automation allows us to efficiently schedule jobs between our plants and optimize our manufacturing process and shipping process, while ensuringhigh-quality printing with every job.”

Automation Solutions Network is a keyorganization in the exchange of ideas and solutions for job definition format (JDF) workflows. It is chaired by Iskey and Dr. Mark Bohan, Vice President,Technology and Research, Printing Industries of America. The group focuses on the development and practical implementation of JDF-enabled systems and cross-vendor implementations, Iskey said.

“48HourPrint.com is looking forward to joining the discussion of how we can work together to serve our customers better and provide the turnaround times and margins that our businesses require as a result,” Cozart said. “The upcoming Automation Solutions Network meeting is a perfect venue for this discussion.”
