Muller Martini Releases White Paper entitled "Success in Motion"

Press release from the issuing company

Muller Martini's "Success in Motion" details how the printed newspaper is once again providing unique, lucrative value for publishers, manufacturing partners, advertisers and consumers.

Muller Martini has released a new White Paper entitled "Success in Motion. The Newspaper Industry Adapts to Changing Times Doing What It Does Best:  Connecting Individuals and Communities to Advertisers."  While acknowledging and documenting the challenges presented by a troubled economy and the continued emergence of digital alternatives, the paper presents a positive perspective on how newspapers, manufacturing partners and advertisers have initiated business-building strategies that are moving the industry forward.

Gary Owen, Muller's Vice President, Mailroom Systems, and the author of the White Paper observed, "We felt it was time to present an informed perspective on where the newspaper business has been, and where it's headed.  So much that has been reported reflects a 'gloom and doom' point of view.  But we speak with our newspaper clients every day, and the picture is actually a much brighter one.  Sure, the industry has taken some hits, but they've also initiated new, robust revenue strategies that are starting to make a real difference."

"Success in Motion" provides a detailed account of why the newspaper industry became at risk, and the reasons why it was essential to operationally restructure for the future.  One of the key strategies discussed in the paper is the emergence of Regional Production and Distribution Centers which have greatly streamlined the manufacturing and distribution of newspapers, creating efficiencies for publishers and producers that are resulting in profitable outcomes.  The White Paper features case studies which support the success of the Regional Production and Distribution Center model.  In addition, the paper discusses a number of advertising programs that are taking full advantage of print's creative power and unique distribution capabilities.

Since the newspaper industry continues to evolve daily, Muller plans to update the paper on a regular basis, incorporating new case studies and developments that are leading to innovative ways for publishers and their manufacturing partners to make money.  Commented Mr. Owen, "Our industry landscape will continue to evolve, more plants will consolidate, advertisers will develop creative new ways to target consumers through print, and consumers will benefit from print advertising programs that drive retail sales in their communities.  'Success in Motion' is intended to be a dynamic resource for newspaper publishers and their manufacturing partners, one they can routinely refer to for new ideas on how industry colleagues and competitors are driving revenue.  We thank those who have contributed to this initial research and look forward to continued input from others for future important updates."

"Success in Motion" is available as a free download on the Muller Martini website.  Those interested in obtaining a copy should visit the Channel MM media hub page at http://blogmmus.com and click on the White Paper icon.
