Appligent Releases StampPDF Batch 3.0

Press release from the issuing company

LANSDOWNE, Pa.--Oct. 14, 2003-- Appligent Inc., a leading provider of PDF-related software, today introduced StampPDF Batch 3.0, a server-based software application for stamping text and images onto PDF documents. Along with StampPDF Batch 3.0, Appligent's software applications allow companies to build a full suite of in-house solutions for document processing. StampPDF Batch 3.0 is a server-based, command-line driven application designed to run in an unattended production workflow environment and handle high volume and on-demand publishing and printing jobs. The software application is especially useful for ISO 9000 compliance. This international standard requires companies to provide auditable evidence of business processes and procedures, and automating the stamping of time/date signatures and control statements ensures the validity of documents. "StampPDF Batch 3.0 is designed to be a part of a complete document production solution that companies can use to modify PDF files," says Virginia Gavin, president of Appligent. "Appligent's product line allows companies to automate their document assembly process, allowing documents to be produced with greater speed and accuracy with significant cost savings." StampPDF Batch 3.0 includes many new features, such as the ability to stamp CMYK images, as well as those in the RGB color space. The software also supports watermarking and stamping TIFF and PDF images, as well as JPEG. In addition, StampPDF Batch 3.0 offers more flexible Bates numbering for legal notation. It now stamps numbers sequentially across a collection of files and allows users to choose the number of digits in the stamp. Users can more easily specify text rotation and justification, which allow them to create a layout beforehand that will place the stamp correctly regardless of page rotation. The new version of StampPDF Batch includes many enhanced typographic features such as support for fractional point sizes and transparent stamping with varying levels of opacity, so that the underlying text beneath stamps can be easily read. The software also supports stamping encrypted files and the linearization of PDF, which enables a user to view any selected page of a PDF document while it downloads from the Internet in the background. In addition to stamping volumes of documents, StampPDF Batch 3.0's features are also ideal for companies that provide on-demand documents for multiple clients. For example, a company that produces technical specification sheets for its products may need to customize pages with each reseller's logo and tagline. With the help of StampPDF Batch 3.0, companies only need to create a document once and easily utilize it for multiple purposes. "StampPDF Batch 3.0 has many refined features that offer document-rich organizations such as manufacturers, government agencies and law firms a sophisticated automated solution to apply content to electronic documents," says Gavin. Appligent's StampPDF Batch 3.0 is available for purchase at www.appligent.com.
