Ricoh and Kern Highlight Mailroom Workflow at GRAPH EXPO

Press release from the issuing company

On-Site Automated Document Factory Experts to Exhibit Mailroom Integration With Easy-to-Use Manifesting and Reprinting Managed From a Single Point of Control

BOULDER, CO - Ricoh Company, Ltd. today announced it will conduct a live reprint demonstration with Kern, a leader in production mail solutions, at GRAPH EXPO 2011 September 11-14, in Chicago. The demonstration will illustrate how the company's Automated Document Factory (ADF) workflow solution, driven by the InfoPrint ProcessDirector software platform, integrates with Kern's mailFactory eyeV, simplifying the task of generating a final insert log and automatic reprint. Ricoh workflow experts will also be on hand to meet with customers on topics ranging from file processing to print and postal preparation.

The live reprint demonstration with Kern will highlight the added value of an integrated workflow, showcasing an easy-to-manage, print-insert-reprint workflow technology, designed to help clients manage document production, verify document accuracy and identify damaged mail pieces more efficiently than ever. In the event of an error, companies can choose how to handle the inaccuracy without any complicated reprocessing, saving significant labor costs and creating a high integrity mailroom environment with low risk for an information breach. This security also enables customers to potentially avoid significant costs due to regulation fines, downtime and negative publicity.

"Integration between InfoPrint ProcessDirector and Kern mailFactory enables customers the complete levels of integrity, flexibility and reliability needed when producing high volumes of mailpieces. In these environments, these attributes are crucial," said Dave Squires, senior vice president, Strategy, Kern. "Teaming with Ricoh, a true leader in the workflow space, enables Kern customers to experience the broadest level of mailroom integration and improve their overall mailroom operations by leveraging two very powerful solution sets."

At GRAPH EXPO, attendees will see the Kern K686 inserter mounted with a Kern mailFactory eyeV camera system, showcasing Ricoh's inserter communication and reconciliation technology built into InfoPrint ProcessDirector, designed to work on any file-driven inserter or camera system. This integration provides customers the security and reliability they require from a single point of control while creating an easy-to-use system that simplifies the reprint management process by enabling reprinting on any printer.

"Over the last 20 years, InfoPrint ADF solutions have achieved major milestones and technology innovations around the world, and today the platform-independent approach continues to broaden in application and appeal, with the first ADF capable of native PDF processing and the first cloud-based Managed ADF Services," said Chris Reid, vice president, Business Development, Ricoh Production Print Solutions (RPPS*). "By teaming with Kern, both companies can provide strategic value-added benefits for our customers, offering them a full suite of end-to-end, print-to-mail services including reprint automation and postal solutions that address many of their major pain points."
