KBA North America Wins $13.8m Contract at Graph Expo

October 10, 2003 -- KBA North America has signed a $13.8 million contract with Malnove Inc, the largest ndependent non-integrated folding carton manufacturer in North America, for three Rapida 142 (56”) seven-color sheetfed presses, each with an anilox coater and delivery extension. The first press will be installed in the company’s plant in Omaha, Nebraska, this winter. “Signing this contract with KBA extends our business relationship with them even further,” says Paul Malnove, president of Malnove. “We installed the firstl arge-format Rapida 142 in the US in our Omaha plant in 1997 and since then we have produced over 200 million impressions. Over the past three years we have installed new high-speed KBA Rapida presses in both our Jacksonville and Omaha plants, with great success. The Nebraska facility offers sheetfed and rotogravure printing up to seven colors and flexo printing up to six colors, with backside coaters. The Floridaf acility, the newest folding carton plant in the US, has a seven-color sheetfed capability and six-color flexo capability. The Utah facility features sheetfed printing up to seven colors.
