Extensis Announces Largest Revenue Quarter in Ten-Year History

Press release from the issuing company

Portland, Ore. – January 14, 2004 – Extensis, Inc., Oregon-based software developer, today announced it has surpassed its existing record for quarterly net revenue. Extensis' cash contribution was also the best in the history of the company with a 66 percent increase. Extensis finished the 2003 calendar year with 31 percent growth over 2002 and is on track to exceed its prior fiscal year by 52 percent. Extensis refocused its sales, marketing and product development efforts in 2003 toward corporate workgroup environments that create and use fonts and digital files. Extensis' first step on this path was its acquisition of DiamondSoft, maker of the popular font management product, Font Reserve. With this acquisition, Extensis currently owns 98 percent of the professional font management market and are the only providers of server-based font management solutions. "Extensis is very excited by this monumental achievement," said Craig Keudell, CEO of Extensis, Inc. "Our corporate redirection has positioned us to take full advantage of new opportunities and markets while the support and investment by our parent company, Celartem has enabled us to move aggressively and grow faster than our forecasts." Also in 2003, Extensis celebrated its ten-year anniversary with the addition of 57 new employees and more than $100 Million in sales over the past decade, helping to secure its place as one of the top five leading providers of software that empowers digital asset creators and users. "Celartem is very pleased with Extensis' dramatic impact on the corporate workgroup environment in such a short period of time," said Osamu Ikeda, CEO of Celartem Technology USA, Inc. "With its exceptional customer base and positive revenue growth, we are confident that Extensis will continue to break records in the coming years." Extensis and its products have been recognized for numerous industry awards and honors in its ten-year history, domestically and abroad, including the "Fastest Growing Company" and "Oregon Tech Fast 50 Award" from the Portland Business Journal and Deloitte & Touché, Aberdeen Group's "Top 10" honor, and multitudes of product awards from respectable publications including Computer Arts, Photoshop User and Popular Photography Magazine. Extensis develops Suitcase and Font Reserve, the leading professional font management programs, Portfolio for managing digital assets, plug-in enhancements for Photoshop, and productivity enhancements for QuarkXPress. Extensis' current customers include the cream of the crop in advertising, publishing, services and manufacturing. Included, among many others, are Fed-Ex, Ducati Motors, Pearson Publishing, Disney, MTV and Ogilvy & Mather. Celartem Technology Inc., a Japan-based company, purchased Extensis in September 2002. This acquisition has enabled Extensis to invest heavily in personnel, new product development and has fueled its growth strategy including Extensis' recent acquisition of DiamondSoft. The Celartem family includes Celartem Technology USA Inc., Extensis, Inc and LizardTech, Inc.
