uniFLOW Serverless Secure Print and imagePROGRAF iPF8300S Garner Summer "Pick" Awards

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today announced the Company has received the Outstanding Document Security Solution and Outstanding Color Inkjet Wide-Format Production Photo Printer Summer "Pick" awards from Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI) for its uniFLOW Serverless Secure Print solution and imagePROGRAF iPF8300S large format printer.

"These awards recognize Canon's commitment to providing our customers a comprehensive suite of imaging solutions that take output production and management to the next level," said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manger, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "Canon is proud to receive Buyers Laboratory Summer 'Pick' awards for our uniFLOW Serverless Secure Print solution and imagePROGRAF iPF8300S large format printer."

Recognized as "Outstanding" in their respective category by BLI, Summer "Pick" honors include:

uniFLOW Serverless Secure Print - "Outstanding Document Security Solution"

uniFLOW Serverless Secure Printing by NT-Ware enhances built-in MFP secure print functionality by bringing "MyPrint Anywhere" functionality and proximity card login to customers who do not have a print server. This not only increases productivity but also helps reduce waste by preventing unwanted print jobs being printed. Available for both MEAP enabled Canon imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices as well as select Canon compact multifunction products, uniFLOW Serverless Secure Print allows users to print their job using the normal Canon printer driver and then walk to any of the Canon MFPs on their network to release the job.

Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300S - "Outstanding Color Inkjet Wide-Format Production Photo Printer"

The 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8300S eight-color large format printer broadens Canon's offering to the graphics arts, photo and production markets by providing an optimal balance of high productivity and exceptional print quality. With Canon LUCIA EX pigment ink, professionals can achieve high quality and performance in such printing applications as color or monochrome photography, industrial design and high-quality poster production. The new eight-color system covers a reproducible color gamut which has been expanded approximately 20-percent beyond previous S-series models. With its new pigment materials and structure, Canon's LUCIA EX ink set achieves greater shadow details, deeper black density and overall scratch resistance.

"The 'Pick' awards Canon won this season exemplify how Canon has expanded its product line over the years into other areas of the document imaging market to provide complete, high-quality solutions to its customers, whatever their needs," said Daria Hoffman, BLI managing editor.

Twice a year with its "Pick" awards, BLI gives special recognition to the hardware and software products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI's unique evaluations. Hardware products undergo a demanding reliability test as well as a battery of tests to assess image quality, productivity, paper handling, ease of use and network connectivity, among others. Software solutions undergo an in-depth hands-on review that focuses on key attributes for a solution's target market and compares how well the product stacks up against leading competitors. Pick winners rise above the competition in key areas such as value, feature set, ease of use, ease of administration, hardware compatibility, software integration, security and support. Software solutions earn an overall rating based on a five-star scale, and "Pick" contenders are culled from those that earn the highest ratings. Consequently, a BLI "Pick" is a hard-earned award that buyers and IT directors can trust to better guide them in their acquisition decisions.
