Buhrs has installed a 30 pocket intelligent wrapping system at a leading mail order company in Japan.

Buhrs installs an intelligent Buhrs 3000 wrapping system in JapanCommenting on the installation, Buhrs Managing Director Kim Ying Lee said: "With the delivery of this highly complex wrapping system, we have shown that Buhrs continues to be the vendor of choice for the development and manufacturing of custom engineered solutions. Our customer had multiple options for awarding this project, we are proud that they chose to put their confidence in Buhrs and that we were able to deliver a solution that proves their confidence was well placed. In light of our restart in 2010, this project has resulted in restoring confidence in Buhrs for the future."

The wrapping system has 30 compact feeders that are equipped with selectivity and an intelligent production monitoring and reporting program. The software controls were developed by Buhrs; each package is tracked and verified to guarantee the integrity of each finished piece. While most complex systems with over 20 feeders suffer from reduced productivity the net output of this custom system is 7,200 packages per hour.
