This year's PPA gala awards evening was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Wednesday 15th June 2011, with Henry Winkler, aka the iconic Fonz, from the hit US TV show, Happy Days the guest of honour.  
Winkler, actor and literacy champion, has supported a number of charities and organisations over the years due to his own experiences as a dyslexia sufferer. As such, Winkler cites the importance of magazines and comic books in the educational arena, for which he credits much of his own early learning and reading development.   

Hosted by comedian Kevin Bridges, the PPA Awards brought together more than 1,000 guests from top publishing and media houses across the UK, for some 22 awards.  
Denmaur Independent Papers, a long standing member of the PPA, were proud sponsors of the Weekly Business Magazine of the Year award. This year the award was scooped by the Times Higher Education, and was presented to Ann Mroz, the editor of the magazine by Julian Townsend, Sales Director of Denmaur Independent Papers. Accompanying Ann, was Associate Editor Ingrid Curl.
