Kurt Hamlin Joins Presstek as Director of Strategic Accounts

Press release from the issuing company

GREENWICH, CT, Presstek, Inc., a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, today announced that long-time industry professional Kurt Hamlin has joined the company as Director of Strategic Accounts. In this role, Hamlin will focus on larger printing operations in the commercial printing and folding carton industries that can benefit from the innovative production workflow enabled by the Presstek 75DI digital offset press.

"We are delighted to have Kurt as part of the Presstek team," said Joe Demharter, Vice President of Sales. "With nearly 30 years of industry experience in both manufacturer and print provider organizations, his knowledge and background are ideally suited to the task we have assigned him -- getting the word out about how the Presstek 75DI can bring added productivity and profitability to larger commercial printers and folding carton converters."

Prior to joining Presstek, Hamlin was the Vice President of Operations for Vision Graphics, Inc., in Loveland, CO, a $16 million printer with 85 employees with two facilities. Before that, Hamlin was a District Sales Manager for manroland, who recruited him from a more than 20-year career at Current USA in Colorado Springs. During his tenure there, Hamlin was General Manager of Current Printing Solutions at this $100+ million firm. He was responsible for executing daily operations with lean manufacturing principles and also involved in mergers and acquisitions.

"Kurt's unique set of experiences gives him insight into how best to position the Presstek 75DI for use in larger accounts," added Demharter. "His deep knowledge, especially as it relates to lean manufacturing, also positions him with great deal of credibility as he speaks with these businesses."

The Presstek 75DI is a highly automated 29" digital offset press that is available in 4- to 10-color configurations. It is available with a full range of productivity enhancing options, including an inline aqueous coater. The 75DI features support for 300 lpi and FM screening, 6-minute job-to-job turnover (including on-press plate imaging), and a small environmental footprint. The press prints up to 16,000 six-up sheets or 96,000 letter-sized pages per hour.
