X-Rite To Demonstrate Advanced Colour Measurement Technologies at Plast-Ex 2011

Press release from the issuing company

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – X-Rite, Incorporated will present advanced technologies at the Plast-Ex 2011 Show in Toronto from June 21 to 23 that manufacturers of plastics products can use in their workflow everyday to accurately communicate colour data between plants worldwide, reduce rework and scrap, and improve quality.

X-Rite representatives at booth 2170 in the Toronto Congress Centre will demonstrate technologies that plastics manufacturers serving the automotive, durable and small appliance, office furniture and home improvement industries can use to precisely control the colour of their products. For free expo hall entrance passes, a $55 value, attendees can register here and use the promo code of XG.

One exciting new technology is the Automated Closed-Loop Color Control (ACLCC) system, an automatic system for controlling color of extruded plastics through the use of X-Rite's VeriColor high resolution spectrophotometer, a PLC running custom software and a volumetric color feeder. Three years in development, the ACLCC optimizes operator efficiency while ensuring consistent color quality throughout a production run. The system takes over much of the hand and eye work associated with production, providing an automated, in-line control system to eliminate color errors and product waste.

Other X-Rite technologies highlighted at the show will include the non-contact VS450 spectrophotometer that is affordable enough to be stationed for quality control at individual production machines, and the MA98 spectrophotometer and X-RiteColor QC system that accurately measures effect colours  that are popular with consumers.

In addition, the company  will be demonstrating its Color i7 benchtop spectrophotometer that can handle all opacity levels of plastics samples,  Color iMatch software for formulating plastics, and the SP64 handheld spherical spectrophotometer that provides fast and accurate colour measurement of plastics.

X-Rite also launched a "virtual tradeshow" of its booth at Plast-Ex 2011 as a convenient way for companies to access all the information presented at the show, allowing visitors or those who couldn't attend the show to access product applications and specifications  anytime and anywhere. The virtual tradeshow can be accessed by visiting  http://www.xrite.com/company_press_room.aspx?EventID=342.
