Torraspapel to defend paper rights at Spanish Graphispag 2011 Fair

Press release from the issuing company

The international trade show for the Spanish graphic arts industry will take place in Barcelona from March 22 to March 26, 2011.

Paper is a sustainable, efficient, powerful and unique means of communication. For this reason, Torraspapel, part of the Lecta Group, has chosen to defend and revindicate its rights at the upcoming Spanish industry fair, where it will introduce the campaign "Paper Rights: the rights of paper". We list a few of them below:

Art.1 Paper has the right to be part of the future as it contributes to sustainable development. Paper will always be used: its versatility, the continuing development of new uses and applications, and its environmental characteristics make paper the material of the future in a society increasingly committed to sustainable development.

Art.2 Paper has the right to be used with any text or image. Regardless whether it's surprise, anger, joy... Paper has been, and will continue to be, the natural form of communication for emotions and ideas.

Art.3 Paper has the right to be recognized as eco-friendly given that it is manufactured from natural and renewable raw materials, is produced using clean technologies, and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

Art.4 Paper has the right to be printed in the right way. Offset printing, rotogravure printing, silk-screen printing and even digital printing techniques are all linked to paper, which adapts to each one of them providing exceptional results with different finishes, colors and substances.

Art.5 Paper has the right to continue being used by creators of ideas, culture, education and entertainment. Paper will never become outmoded because of its ability to efficiently and sustainably satisfy needs in fields as diverse as communications, art, culture, trade and health.

Art.6 Paper has the right not to be slandered or unjustly accused. Paper does not represent a threat to the environment, nor is it a product of the past. In fact, the opposite is true: paper is natural and ecological, produced with clean, efficient and responsible technologies, that contributes to our quality of life. Paper is not only a key element of our history, but also plays a fundamental role in contributing to the advance and sustainable evolution of our society.

Art.7 Paper has the right to continue conveying emotions in a unique way. Through touch and smell, paper establishes a powerful emotional bond like no other means of communication can.

Art.8 Paper has the right to be universally adopted because it is versatile and easy to use. Paper does not require a user's manual and can be passed on and enjoyed from generation to generation. In addition it is a form of communication in keeping with the times: more than 30% of the paper being used today is for applications that did not even exist ten years ago.
