MEI announces Pro Pub Series for tablet publishing

Press release from the issuing company

Jenkintown, PA — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced the Pro Pub Series of tablet-publishing seminars. This ongoing traveling program hosted by MEI consists of informative sessions designed to help publishers learn first-hand about getting content onto the iPad and other tablets.

The main focus of the events will be Adobe’s groundbreaking Digital Publishing Suite, the emerging standard for tablet publishing using Adobe® InDesign®. The Series provides valuable opportunities for publishers and corporate communications teams to learn from software specialists and experts from Adobe, MEI and its partners, as well as to interact with customers who are already producing tablet content in the field.

MEI has been offering expert tablet-publishing services since Adobe first released the Digital Publishing Suite and has already helped customers such as Reader’s Digest create immersive, interactive iPad editions. Additionally, MEI’s authorized distribution partners are providing tablet-publishing assistance at sites such as National Geographic, where integrator Technology for Publishing recently started implementing a tablet workflow. Pro Pub Series participants can expect to learn more about these publications and what goes into getting them to the App Store.

Washington, D.C.

The next Pro Pub Series stop is in Washington, D.C., on February 23. This free seminar is a continuation of MEI’s “iPad Now!” program, demonstrating the industry’s best tools and techniques for publishing to tablet devices. Publishers, communications specialists and creative teams from the D.C. area are invited.

New York City

That event will be followed by a daylong “Tablet Publishing Demystified” conference in New York City on March 8. Targeted toward MEI customers and those currently using the vjoon K4™ Cross-Media Publishing Platform, this event will cover a wide range of topics, including commerce models and marketplaces; using built-in business analytics; the new advertising paradigm enabled by digital issues; and how K4 can streamline tablet workflows.

Webinars

For those who can’t attend the Pro Pub Series in person or would prefer to learn without leaving the office, MEI will also be hosting Pro Pub webinars demonstrating the Digital Publishing Suite on a regular basis.

Anyone interested in attending Pro Pub Series events should contact the MEI sales team at [email protected] for more information.

“We recognize that adding a new tablet-content workflow can be a difficult but necessary task,” said Dennis McGuire, CEO and President of MEI. “Our Pro Pub Series is designed to take out the difficult part and give publishers the information and confidence they need to create tablet-ready editions using the best software and integrated tools available.”
