Venlo, The Netherlands - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that the internal printroom at a Danish customer has dramatically reduced document preparation time using Océ PRISMAprepare software. The customer is the world's 1,000th customer to buy the award-winning document preparation tool.

Océ PRISMAprepare software used for all book production
The printroom first discovered Océ PRISMAprepare software when Océ offered it for a free trial. The printroom had recently realized that its existing document production software was outdated and an upgrade would be expensive. The Océ offer gave the printroom the chance to compare workflow with both software tools on an equal basis. After just one month, printroom staff were convinced. They now use Océ PRISMAprepare software for all book production on an Océ VarioPrint 6160 Ultra printer and an Océ CS665 color production system.

Book preparation now three times as fast
"It used to take us three hours to prepare a book," says the printroom's Graphic Designer. "Now it takes just one. And with a little bit of practice we'll be even faster." Previously, she had to prepare documents page by page. Now she can work on the entire document and make changes instantly. As a result, the process is three times faster than before. She also believes that when she masters Océ PRISMAprepare software even further, the printroom will benefit from more efficiencies.

Non-standard formats easy to scale
The Printroom Operator concurs. "Even though I didn't know Océ PRISMAprepare, it was so logical and user friendly that I was producing right from the start. And even though I understand and speak English, it's much easier to have everything in Danish, especially with special terms and things like that." Book production in the printroom often involves scanning stacks of printed sheets. With time pressing and so many pages to scan, operators occasionally position them on the glass incorrectly. With Océ PRISMAprepare software, operators can easily remove dark edges from wrongly scanned pages as well as punch and staple marks. Non-standard formats are also easy to scale.
