HP Indigo 7500, Scitex LX800 awarded 'Must See 'Ems'Wednesday, October 13, 2010 Press release from the issuing company Palo Alto, Calif. – HP's most advanced sheetfed digital press and the industry's largest printing device designed for Latex Ink Technologies received top honors in the 2010 "Must See 'Ems" awards program on Oct. 2. The Must See 'Ems awards, presented for the HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press and the HP Scitex LX800 Printer, came during the annual Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) Executive Outlook conference preceding the Graph Expo tradeshow. "If you want to see some of the best that this industry has to offer, you can start by reviewing the products recognized in this program, so we are excited that, for the fourth consecutive year, new HP technologies have earned Must See 'Ems awards," said Jan Riecher, vice president and general manager, Graphics Solutions Business – Americas, HP. "Innovative technologies like the HP Indigo 7500 and the HP Scitex LX800 provide a true competitive advantage that graphic arts professionals are using to ignite their growth." Three additional HP solutions – the HP Scitex FB700 Printer and the HP Designjet L25500 and Z5200 printers – all received the Must See 'Ems program's "Worth-A-Look" award. Plus, HP's campaign to reach the creative audience at the 2010 Cannes International Advertising Festival received an award of distinction in the first-ever "Positively Print" awards – a new print advocacy program from GASC. Positively Print, which was created and administered by PrintCom Consulting Group President Bill Lamparter, honors graphic arts industry companies for their efforts to promote the power of print in the media mix. A digital press for mid-size offset work and high-value variable data print The press includes the new Vision System, an integrated module that scans press output at full press speed, which allows for the automation of numerous press calibration and service tasks that operators typically must perform, reducing down time and improving print quality. The new high-quality, productive alternative to large-format solvent printing The HP Latex Inks used with the LX800 printer offer more consistent image quality than solvent-ink printers while delivering comparable performance in terms of productivity, size, durability and media choices. By supporting a broader range of applications, latex-based printers offer PSPs more versatility and also help reduce the environmental impact of printing. Continuous innovation across HP's graphic arts portfolio The Must See 'Ems awards program identifies the most compelling technologies and products at the Graph Expo and PRINT tradeshows in Chicago. All of the HP technologies honored in the 2010 Must See 'Ems program were part of HP's Graph Expo exhibit earlier this month. Print: a custom medium available in nearly any format at Cannes During the June 2010 festival, HP joined with advertising industry creative luminaries to discuss how digital print brings content from the virtual world to life in the physical world. HP created two unique publications for the campaign, plus the company assembled a special lounge at Cannes featuring HP-developed elements from pillows and wallpaper to tabletops and custom drink cans – all produced using HP Scitex large-format printers and HP Indigo digital presses.
