Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Sept. 22, 2003-- Electronics For Imaging announced today that their Best Colorproof(TM) software, combined with Canon imagePROGRAF(TM) inkjet printers and Canon Commercial Proofing paper, have just earned the publishing industry's prestigious SWOP certification. This certification signifies that the combined proofing system matches a SWOP Certified Press Proof sufficiently to be used in the production of publications. SWOP, Inc (Specifications for Web Offset Publications), is a non-profit organization of Graphic Arts leaders who have established a rigorous certification process for uniform proofing specifications and tolerances to ensure consistency and quality in offset printing. "The ability to consistently produce high quality proofs is critical to printing companies that need to easily and inexpensively simulate the appearance of final web offset printed sheets," said Thorsten Breiding, VP and GM, EFI's Best division. "We are proud to receive SWOP certification for our Best Colorproof software with Canon imagePROGRAF printers. This assures users that their proofs adhere to the highest standards for color calibration and accuracy, ensuring that the final print output is a perfect match." "Canon is pleased that our imagePROGRAF W2200, W7200 and W7250 with Canon inks and papers, combined with EFI's Best Colorproof, have met the SWOP requirements for certification," said Amit Bache, director, Printer Division Canon USA. "Our joint commitment to quality color proofing has resulted in a solution that meets the graphic arts industry's highest proofing standards." "The EFI Best Colorproof and Canon Proofing System has met our certification criteria and has thus been granted SWOP certification," said George Leyda, chairman of the SWOP Technical Committee and spokesperson for SWOP, Inc. "Our organization is dedicated to raising the quality of publication printing by setting tough standards. We have determined that Best Colorproof, used with Canon W2200/7200/7250 printers, has met this standard." The EFI Best Colorproof and Canon SWOP certified Proofing System can be seen at the Graph Expo 2003 trade show in Chicago September 27- October 1 in the xpedx booth #4640, the Chromaticity booth #4969, and the Canon booth #3451.
