Pazazz prints with environmental consciousness

Press release from the issuing company

Montreal, Quebec - Cascades Fine Papers Group, a global paper company, has chosen Pazazz Printing to print the Rolland Enviro100 and the Rolland Opaque50 sample books. The Cascades sample books showcase the power of UV printing on offset paper while respecting the environment. They were printed on Pazazz's KBA Rapida 142 56" six-color UV offset press.

"The challenge in printing the Cascades sample books was respecting the environment while attaining powerful colours on uncoated paper stock," says Warren Werbitt, Founder and CEO at Pazazz. "We insisted on using UV inks that reduce emission patterns for volatile solvents, improve air quality and non-renewable resource conservation and contain 0 VOCs, 0 HAPs and are fully recyclable. We chose to print 250 line screen to achieve the highest degree of colour saturation."

Pazazz printed the books on the KBA 142 56" six-color UV offset press which is equipped with Densitronic S, a combined density and color measuring system for quality control during printing. Unlike any other system available on the market, Densitronic S also enables direct measurements within the image which allows for perfect colour consistency.

Julie Loyer, Communication and Sustainable Development Advisor at Cascades Specialty Products Group was thrilled with the job.  "UV printing on uncoated paper provides remarkable results. The images look crisper and more alive. Having been able to print such a high quality booklet locally, about environmental papers that were made in Quebec makes it a tremendous success!"

"We are different than our competitors," states Werbitt. "We have the ability to print using UV inks, which are VOC-free and produce incredibly detailed and colour intense work onto 100% post-consumer papers. Not only are we producing better looking and more colorful pieces but we are also doing this in an extremely environmentally-friendly process which is becoming more and more important in the marketplace and for our customers. We've proven the pundits wrong who think that a green job is a step down in quality. These books prove the complete opposite."
