The Herald, Inc presents itself as a brand new, 129 year old company

Press release from the issuing company

New Washington, Ohio - Like so many printing companies over the past decade, the application of ink onto the surface of paper no longer represents the sole basis of their business. Those “printing companies” who have refused to broaden the scope of their products and services beyond the process of imaging a substrate are increasingly rare and as a breed seem to be destined for extinction.

Dave and Suzanne Stump, however, have no intention of allowing this company they founded to go the way of the dinosaur, the slide rule and the 8-track tape player. The Herald, Inc. is a new company in name but retains the talent and dedication of the employees, the cutting edge products and services, and the proud history of The Herald Printing Company which has been operating in New Washington, Ohio, since 1881.

“I would be the first to admit that it has been a struggle over the past eight years since Suzanne and I bought the company, to keep our market share in what clearly is an industry in flux,” says Dave. “Email, PCs, iPads, Kindles, 24/7 cable news/advertising, online bill payment, direct deposit paychecks, etc. have all contributed to shrinking the amount of printing that is being done today versus 35 years ago when I first got into the printing industry” Dave recalls. “Reorganizing, refocusing and even renaming the company in order to stay in front of this ever changing business, particularly in a down economy, is vital to our existence. Investing in state-of-the-art equipment, software and marketing approaches will be the key to our future success,” Stump declares. Both Dave and Suzanne Stump will remain as owners and managers of The Herald, Inc.
