Lexington, Kentucky USA - WhatTheyThink.com today announced an exciting opportunity for industry professionals to learn from one of North America's leading Social Media experts by attending a free printing industry educational webinar. The Ultimate Social Media Primer, presented by well-known author and social media expert, Tamar Weinberg. Sponsored by Grow Socially, the event will be held Wednesday, August 18th, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EDT (-4 GMT). Regular WhatTheyThink webinar attendees should note that this is an hour earlier than the normal webinar schedule.

No-charge registration is available at the webinar registration page.

"We are unbelievably thrilled to have a speaker of Weinberg's quality," said Cary Sherburne, Senior Editor and Director of Services for WhatTheyThink, who will be moderating the session. "Her book, The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web, is one of the best I have read. Although by the very nature of social media, anything published on the subject is already dated almost as soon as it is published, it contains a multitude of actionable ideas for anyone interested in how social media can be used to promote your business or to develop services which can be offered to customers. This is truly a not-to-be-missed opportunity to quickly get up to speed, and to learn what might have changed since Weinberg's book was published."

Weinberg's session is the first of a three-part social media webinar series. Weinberg will provide a brief overview of the current state of social media and how it is being used for marketing purposes. She will also share specific success stories and ideas about how social media can be monetized, packaged or otherwise used for business purposes. The session will include a question and answer opportunity with attendees having the unique opportunity to get their specific questions answered. "As with all of our WhatTheyThink webinars," added Sherburne, "this session will be available in the archive. However, by participating in the session live, attendees can increase its value by getting individual questions answered as time permits by one of the world's leading experts on the subject."

Part Two of the series will be conducted on September 22nd and will include a panel of high-profile marketers speaking about their use of social media. The session scheduled for November 17th, 2010, will feature a panel of print service providers who have turned social media to their advantage for business growth.

"Many printing businesses are either not pursuing social media avenues or are struggling with the most effective way to leverage social media for their own marketing purposes and to create new revenue streams," said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. "This timely session will help companies jump-start their social media decisions and efforts with a down-to-earth approach to the subject, without the hype that many other sources include. We appreciate the fact that Grow Socially is sponsoring this important session, allowing us to make it available at no charge."

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
