Goss International displays "Big Five" advantages ExpoPrint Brazil

Press release from the issuing company

The Goss International booth (#R10) at ExpoPrint in Brazil will highlight how Goss products deliver five characteristics – confidence, performance, speed, robustness and power. These coincide with the famous "Big Five" attributes of the most well recognized animals in Africa, where soccer's World Cup will be played during the show. "Visitors to ExpoPrint this year will no doubt have one eye on the matches in South Africa, so with a lighthearted nod to the location of the World Cup, we've structured our exhibit according the 'Big Five'," explains Vitor Dragone, general manager of Goss International Brazil.

Five of the most prominent Goss systems in the Latin American market – M-600, Sunday, Community SSC and Uniliner presses as well as Pacesetter saddlestitchers – will be linked with a corresponding "Big Five" attribute most closely related to its key capabilities.

"Printers and publishers in Latin America have ordered more than 300 Goss printing units in the last four years, indicating that our products are well matched to the evolving requirements of this dynamic region," explains Jochen Meissner, Goss International president and CEO. "We have also expanded our local sales and support capabilities, and our new ownership structure should give customers additional confidence and security."

An M-600 printing unit featuring Autoplate automatic plate changing technology will be among the technology highlights on the Goss International booth at ExpoPrint. Epitomizing "confidence", the M-600 press is the world's most popular 16-page press, chosen for high-quality commercial heatset production across all major continents.

A display of gapless Sunday press blankets at the booth will highlight "performance" as the key differentiating attribute of the Sunday press family. Fifteen Sunday 2000, 3000 and 4000 press systems have been installed in Latin America since 2006, with formats ranging from 16 to 64 pages.

"Speed" – and the productivity resulting from it – will be represented by Goss Pacesetter saddlestitchers. Pacesetter models are available with rated speeds between 16,000 and 25,000 books per hour, and operators consistently achieve net productivity totals that exceed 95 percent of those speed specifications.

Known for decades as a reliable 'workhorse' for newspaper and semi-commercial applications throughout Latin America, the Goss Community SSC single-width press will be linked with the "robustness" attribute.

For "power", the Goss International booth will emphasize the Uniliner double-width newspaper press, now available in 4x1, 4x2 and a new 3x2 format for newspaper and semi-commercial applications. A wide range of features allow Uniliner systems to deliver fast, efficient makereadies and job changes as well as high productivity.

In addition to these "Big Five" products, the Goss International booth at ExpoPrint will also emphasize an expanded range of finishing system options and comprehensive aftermarket Goss Lifetime Support services to extend the lifespan and competitiveness of existing systems. Goss International will also highlight Akiyama sheetfed presses now sold and supported in Brazil by the Goss International Brazil organization.

"The 'Big Five' theme is a fun way to call attention to key Goss capabilities, but there is a serious significance to this selection," explains Dragone. "The products we are highlighting demonstrate the advantages Goss technology can deliver, and with our expanded sales and service infrastructure now fully established, we are more committed than ever before to helping our customers stay ahead of the competition and develop their businesses for the future."
