Vancouver publisher adds Goss newspaper press

Press release from the issuing company

Glacier Media, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, will install a new Goss Community SSC press in the summer of 2010.

Impressions Worldwide, a distributor and service provider, ordered 40 Community SSC printing units from Goss International to supply a complete press system for Glacier Media. The new Goss press is part of an investment strategy by Glacier Media to improve revenue and print quality. The publisher's relationship with Impressions Worldwide and the reputation of the Community SSC press were important factors in the decision.

Glacier Media will utilize the new press when it begins printing copies of the national Globe and Mail newspaper for distribution in Saskatchewan and Manitoba in the summer of 2010.

"Working with Impressions Worldwide as an intermediary is somewhat unique, but their understanding of the specific requirements of the publisher as well as their knowledge of the Goss Community SSC towers has helped to synchronize the project," according to Goss International sales manager Merton Howard. "We are pleased to be selected for a project that requires high-quality press technology as well as professional cooperation between supplier, distributor and user."

Traded on the Toronto stock exchange, Glacier Media Inc. is an information communications company focused on the provision of primary and essential information and related services through print, electronic and online media. Glacier is pursuing this strategy through its core business segments: the local newspaper, trade information and business and professional information markets.
