XMPie commemorates a decade with its enhanced PersonalEffect solution

New York - Ten years ago, XMPie revolutionized the industry with the introduction of its PersonalEffect one-to-one variable data, cross-media communication solution. PersonalEffect has provided countless customers with a robust, high-performance platform to develop highly creative, integrated cross-media campaigns, and at Ipex 2010, XMPie will introduce PersonalEffect 5.0-the latest version of this industry-leading solution. It includes new capabilities that advance variable data print (VDP) performance and productivity, further improve and simplify personalized e-mail processes and better integrate the creation of print and e-media communications in cross-media campaigns.

PersonalEffect 5.0 features VDP enhancements through its U2 workflow. U2 harnesses XMPie's patented Gossiping Cluster technology for unmatched output stream generation speed and provides robust print production capabilities without compromising state-of-the-art creativity. Its auto-split and merge functions for high-speed parallel processing of a job's composition now support all graphic arts VDP formats-VIPP, PPML, PS, VPS and PDF. It also provides greater control over job queue management, allowing operators to rank print jobs by level of importance-high, low, normal or interrupt-so more urgent projects can be given top priority for production.

PersonalEffect 5.0 also introduces significant workflow and processing speed enhancements to uImage, XMPie's image personalization solution. uImage now includes a "packing" feature that streamlines the collaboration of designers, rules developers and production managers. In addition, processing speed is dramatically improved with innovative automatic optimizations for objects identification and objects caching and re-use.

Rounding out PersonalEffect 5.0's variable print enhancements are improvements to the XMPie XLIM workflow, which delivers ultra fast composition speeds for graphically simple documents. uDirect now features a live pre-flight window for on-the-spot issue resolution when creating Adobe InDesign documents that are intended for XLIM production. It highlights problem areas within a document that need to be addressed prior to XLIM processing and proposes the necessary correction, saving valuable time and eliminating operator guess work.

PersonalEffect 5.0 offers seamless integration of XMPie e-Mail Service in a way that lets the operator of the uProduce dashboard monitor e-mail credit usage in real time and automatically link to an XMPie online store where additional e-mail credits can be purchased as needed.

E-mail process improvements in this latest version also include new templates and capabilities, through XMPie's exclusive RURL Wizard and Templates that create e-mail content, documents and activities automatically behind the scenes, including footer information for opt-out compliance. PersonalEffect 5.0 introduces tools that significantly simplify and automate the creation of e-mail messages that comply with expected standards and regulations for commercial e-mail, such as unsubscribe requests and anti-spam rules. In addition, the inclusion of an e-mail preflight feature identifies potential issues within e-mail messages and proposes solutions, prior to message distribution. With version 5.0, it is also possible to send e-mail messages with PDF attachments produced by the XMPie system.

PersonalEffect 5.0 also features tighter integration of print and e-media communications in cross-media campaigns. Now live data collected through cross-media communications is immediately available for the uDirect desktop. For example, this allows users to produce another short print run, ensuring up-to-the-minute accuracy in every element of a campaign, whether working from a server or desktop. Another key benefit of this ICP-based live data connection is the printed pieces can be tracked using XMPie's uProduce Marketing Console solution.

PersonalEffect 5.0 will be showcased in stand 07-CD450 at Ipex from May 18-25, 2010 in Birmingham. PersonalEffect 5.0 will be available in Q3 2010.
