IMPIKA to extend iPrint line of industrial inkjet printers

Press release from the issuing company

Aubagne, France - IMPIKA reinforces its leadership on the markets of transactional, transpromo and direct marketing providing the most complete and flexible product offer with the introduction of two innovating and cost efficient additional models iPrint 150 and iPrint 250.

The iPrint 150-250 series represents a major advance in the piezoelectric DOD technology platform already standard on the iPrint 75 and 125 models. Performance benchmarks, both for quality and speed, define a new standard for digital printers and confirm IMPIKA's reputation for innovation and leadership in the industrial inkjet printer space.
"With the addition of the iPrint 150 and 250 models, we position ourselves with the most elaborate product offer to meet customer requirements for quality, speed, reliability and simplicity. The extension of our iPrint line improves our customers' ability to serve multiple markets with a reduced number of machines and at a highly competitive cost", said Paul Morgavi, IMPIKA CEO.

Models and configurations
The IMPIKA line now offers four iPrint versions on the basis of two models per platform. All models are modular and scalable within the limits of the platform and can print widths of up to 474mm (18.67ft) and use environmentally friendly water based pigment or dye inks. Each model offers variable print quality and output speeds supporting customer requirements for diverse market segments.

The new printers are available in two models:
- The iPrint 150 outputs 1200x600 dpi at speeds up to 76 m/min (250 fpm) or alternatively, 600x600 dpi at 152 m/mn (500 fpm)
- The iPrint 250 prints 600x360 dpi at very high speeds (254 m/mn or 830 fpm) and can produce up to 50 million A4 sheet per month
These complement the current range:
- The iPrint 75 prints 1200x600 dpi at 40 m/mn (130 fpm) and 600x600 dpi at 76 m/mn (250 fpm)
- The productivity-oriented iPrint 125 prints 600x360 dpi at 127 m/mn (420 fpm)

The uniqueness of the IMPIKA product line is based on the wide range of configurations possible across all printer models:
- Single sided or duplex printing (SES, SED, TED)
- Monochrome, four-color process
- Possibility of adding special inks or spot colors (MICR, pantone ...)
- Flexible configurations : I, L, U or H shapes
- Continuous feed web/web or web to cut sheet
- Full compatibility with finishing equipment currently available on the market

In order to leverage the full power of the iPrint printers, the range is sold with AFP/IPDS multi-processor high performances controllers, developed upon IMPIKA specifications, and referenced as "iController". The iController provides data management and integrates variable color systems, including CMYK, RGB and CIELab as well as CMR. Such performance as well as IS/3 compatibility guarantee optimum quality of printed images as required in direct marketing and book production.

The different models of the iPrint range meet the requirements of transactional printing, transpromotional and direct marketing jobs as well as on-demand book publication. The iPrint 250 is particularly suitable for newspaper applications where productivity, reliability and low cost are required to cope with uneven work flows and peak usages common in the profession.

At IPEX
The IMPIKA stand will present the iPrint 75 SED equipped with a web/web chain provided by Lasermax Roll System. Visitors will be able to see the printer operate in real time over the course of numerous demonstrations.
As a reminder, the new 28 inch print head (711mm), presented as a premiere at IPEX 2010, will outfit the new generation of IMPIKA platforms and prefigures the already announced iPrint line next extension.
