Press release from the issuing company

Digital Information will for the first time display the integration of X-Rite's EasyTrax scanning spectrophotometer with Digital Information's InkZone product suite. This new combination brings a fast, easy-to-use solution to almost any printer, worldwide.

By integrating the EasyTrax measuring system into the InkZone Move control software, Digital Information now supports the complete range of spectrophotometric scanning systems available from industry measurement leaders X-Rite and Techkon.

InkZone is the profit "nucleus" between prepress, the printing press and the measuring device. The solution increases the value and performance of most any existing printing press. Cost savings seen with new InkZone installations are remarkable, thanks to reaching the production stage of a press run far more quickly with reduced set-up time and waste. In addition, InkZone also improves the quality of the ongoing production work by assisting the press operator to achieve quality standards, including customer requirements or industry benchmarks like PSO, ISO and G7.

The process starts when prepress digital data is accessed by DI-Plot, and in turn the InkZone Perfect software, which then transmits perfectly-calibrated ink-preset values to the control console of most any printing press, new or old. InkZone Move is Digital Information's solution which interfaces with virtually any in-market color measuring device; and with a scanning mode measuring device like EasyTrax, color control bars can be quickly and easily measured from the edge or center of a printed sheet. Once measured, InkZone Loop is the inventive system which controls color during the print run, by providing ink-key adjustment settings to close the loop. The use of print-industry standards, specifications, or user-customized values can be integrated to keep production within required tolerances.

InkZone is the bridge that allows practically any offset press established in the market to be equipped or retrofit with digital ink key presetting and online color control.
