Sakurai Maestro prints heat transfers for skateboards at BBS Manufacturing

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL -  Sakurai USA recently installed a Maestro MS102AII Cylinder Screen Press at BBS Manufacturing in Vista, California to print heat applied transfers to high-end skateboard decks. "We selected the Sakurai Maestro screen press for its accuracy and reliability", said Grant Burns, Owner.  "Our customers are really stoked with BBS quality".

Burns was a skateboarder as a California youngster, who built his own ramps and eventually became interested in woodworking.  Following his passion, he later started building and selling his own skateboards with a college friend, traveling around the country in a vintage VW van.  Building on his early successes, he founded BBS Manufacturing in 1996.

"As our business grew, we needed a new technology to print heat transfers for our decks, so we contacted David Rose, Sakurai's National Sales Manger for Screen Press Products", Burns said. "We were impressed with his consultative approach and the time he took to learn our business. Based on David's recommendation and Sakurai's reputation as the industry leader in screen press technology, we selected the Sakurai Maestro".

Today, BBS Manufacturing employs 200 people and has manufacturing plants in Vista, California and Tijuana, Mexico. This highly successful company produces over 80,000 skateboard decks per month for OEM clients around the world, with heat transfers printed on their Sakurai Maestro.
