Graphic Imagery installs Standard Horizon bookletmaker

Press release from the issuing company

South San Francisco, Calif. - Graphic Imagery, Inc., an award-winning printing business in the San Francisco Bay Area, today announced that it has expanded its in-house bindery department with the addition of a Standard Horizon bookletmaking system with in-line collating, jogging, stitching, folding and fore-edge trimming. Graphic Imagery can produce up to 4,500 books per hour with the new bookletmaker, which complements Graphic Imagery's HP Indigo 5500 digital press and Heidelberg lithographic presses.

The equipment rounds out the company's bindery department, which already offers folding, creasing (scoring), diecutting, perforating, trimming and punching as well as perfect book binding and wire-o binding services. With its pre-press, printing and bindery equipment, Graphic Imagery produces company stationery, brochures, proposals, catalogs, newsletters, reports, invitation packages, cards and postcards, flyers and more - including long-run, short-run and variable data printing projects.

Graphic Imagery's new bookletmaker has touchscreen automation for fast and easy set-up, enabling the company to meet customers' fast turnaround needs. It can stitch and fold up to 24 sheets of normal paper, features heavy-duty stitching heads for extra reliability, and allows for fine adjustments on-the-fly for high-quality finishing.

"We have been looking to invest in a bookmaking system for some time," said Stuart Imison, president of Graphic Imagery. "With business picking up and demand for saddlestitching increasing, we felt the time was right to move forward. Our unit is up-and-running and we are excited to offer our customers one-stop bookletmaking services, all under one roof with tighter control over quality."
