Shawmut Printing installs fourth Komori press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, - Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Shawmut Printing, a full-service commercial printer located in Danvers, Massachusetts, recently installed its fourth Komori press, a five color Lithrone S40 (LS540) with advanced interface (AI) software, to answer the company's increased demand for high quality, more sophisticated applications. The LS540 coupled with AI software improves profitability through reduced waste, and significantly improves press productivity and print quality.

In selecting the press, Shawmut Printing was particularly impressed that AI technology allows all press functions to be preset from the console, saving time and money. In addition, the AI software also has self-learning technology that progressively updates press settings over time to reduce waste. Shawmut's long-term relationship and high satisfaction with the advanced technology and the ease-of-use of Komori's Lithrone presses were additional factors in the decision to add a more advanced press.

"We have been on the receiving end of the benefits of working with Komori since we installed our first Komori press in 2005. After that our business just took off," said Dom Peluso, president of Shawmut Printing. "We have been actively marketing our business this year and showing customers applications that are interesting and compelling and the response has been excellent. This press just adds to our ability to deliver the exceptional work and fast turnaround we are promoting."

"Companies who truly understand what differentiates them from their competition, and invest in promoting that difference, are bound to be successful," said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Komori America. "It is exciting to see the many ways our Lithrone S40 presses continue to support Shawmut's mission to lead the marketplace in delivering the quality and turnaround time that answer customer needs."
