Hamilton Printing Adds Digital Book Manufacturing

Press release from the issuing company

Castleton, New York -- Hamilton Printing Company, New York’s largest web book printer has added digital book manufacturing to its services.  Book publishers can now utilize Hamilton Printing Company for initial runs, reprints, and shorter runs.

“The book manufacturing industry is changing quickly,” said Rick Dunn, vice president, manufacturing at Hamilton Printing Company.  “We have been serving publishers and university presses for almost 100 years.  Hamilton Printing understands the importance of being nimble, flexible and aware of the times.  Short run digital printing is becoming common for publishers and now we’ll be able to service our customers for the entire lifecycle of a book.”

To make the move into Digital Printing, Hamilton Printing recently purchased a new Standard Horizon BQ-470PUR automated four clamp perfect binder and HT-70 in-line three-knife trimmer. Hamilton Printing also added a Xerox Nuvera 288 digital printer, which rounds-out their short-run book production when paired with their existing Xerox iGen3 four-color digital press.

“We have a solid reputation for quality, service and timeliness,” said Dunn.  “Adding short run digital one and four color books diversifies our offerings and helps us enter new markets, while continuing to service existing customers.  In essence, we just became a one-stop shop for publishers and eliminated some of the administrative headaches related to inventory.”

Publishers will be able to select paperback or hardcover books when printing digitally with Hamilton.  The first books Hamilton Printing produced digitally were completed on December 30, 2009.
