Hogue Printing Expands Pressroom With New Mitsubishi Diamond 3000LS

Press release from the issuing company

MESA, Ariz. (August 25, 2008) -- Hogue Printing Solutions was founded in 1962 with the goal of forming lasting relationships with people the family-owned print shop cared about -- especially its employees and clients. Nearly five decades later, Hogue Printing's business is still built on relationships. Translating into unparalleled service, this relationship-building ethic has been a constant source of growth for Hogue Printing.

Key to Hogue Printing's ability to service its customers fast and effectively are the technology choices the company makes. Hogue Printing emphasizes high productivity and high quality in all of its printing-related equipment. Evidence of this is a new Mitsubishi Diamond 3000LS sheetfed press.

The six-color, 40-inch press shares the pressroom floor with an existing Diamond 3000TP, Mitsubishi's 40-inch dedicated Tandem Perfector model. Hogue Printing installed the Tandem Perfector in 2005. It is configured for printing five colors on the top side of the sheet and two colors on the reverse side.

Hogue Printing has become a leader in the production of custom paperboard folding cartons, blister cards, header cards, clamshell inserts and litho labels. Commercial sheetfed projects and full color digital printing projects with variable data continue to be a focus of Hogue Printing as well.

The Diamond 3000LS replaced an older six-color, 40-inch press from another manufacturer.

"The earlier press printed quite a few impressions over the course of its lifetime," recalled Tanner Hogue, vice president of packaging. "We have experienced outstanding results from the Tandem Perfector, and decided to upgrade to the latest and greatest from Mitsubishi. The Diamond 3000LS offers more production capabilities and greater capacity for both our packaging and commercial lines while ensuring consistently outstanding results. It helps drive us in the direction we were already headed."

Hogue Printing has also acquired a Quadrel labeling system in conjunction with a Kirk-Rudy conveyor for applying security labels on folding cartons. In addition, the company is looking to add the latest Bobst high-speed folder-gluer.

"Our sights are firmly set on high-volume printing of folding cartons," Hogue noted. "Several opportunities for longer runs have already presented themselves, and we want to make sure our equipment can facilitate those projects. We are more than certain that our personnel have the technical expertise to ensure quality and efficiency."
