Increased productivity with :Dotrix Modular

Press release from the issuing company

At Print in Chicago and LabelExpo, Agfa Graphics announced the availability of an additional Express Printing Mode on its :Dotrix Modular single pass UV press.

Agfa has continually invested and enhanced the :Dotrix Modular to meet the expanding needs of the packaging industry and specialty markets, since its introduction to the marketplace. This Express Print Mode increases productivity from an already impressive 1440 linear meter to 1920 linear meter per hour with a web width of 65cm, meaning a capacity improvement with 35%. Agfa Graphics' industrial inkjet press is built on grayscale ink jet technology. The Express Print Mode influences the ink drop volume of these grayscale ink jet heads without affecting the print resolution at an apparent resolution of 1000 dpi. This results in an effective production capacity of 1209 m² printed area per hour thereby increasing efficiency and lowering production costs. The higher productivity mode will influence drastically the cost of print in favor of digital print compared to traditional flexo or offset printing."
The Express mode is available now. It is offered as an option to new presses and as upgrade kit to installed presses.

At LabelExpo in Brussels (September 23-26), Agfa Graphics shares floor space with the UK based flexo press manufacturer Edale Ltd. Edale offers the :Dotrix inkjet press to its traditional flexo customers.
