ECRM To Showcase CTP For Small-To-Midsized Commercial Printers And In-Plants At Graphics Of The Americas

Press release from the issuing company

TEWKSBURY, MA -- February 28, 2007 -- ECRM today announced it will exhibit their CTP imaging technology in four different booths at the Graphics of the Americas tradeshow (March 2-5, 2007 at the Miami Beach Convention Center). Working with their channel partners, ECRM will exhibit their MAKO CTP platesetters in the Intergraph booth (#1318), and the Aleph Graphics booth (#934). Scheduled to be demonstrated are the MAKO 8 and the MAKO 4x. The MAKO 4x is one of the first violet CTP devices in the world that offers customers a clear path for moving to chemistry-free plate technology, when available. For more information about ECRM and their offerings, go to www.ecrm.com. Mitsubishi Imaging, the Master Distributor of ECRM’s polyester CTP platesetters in the Americas, will be showcasing the new DPX 2 and DPX 4 systems in two different booths. In the Hamada of America booth (#1062), Mitsubishi Imaging will show the DPX 2 producing Silver DigiPlate polyester plates. The platesetters will be making plates for the B452 Mark II and H234 presses. Mitsubishi Imaging will also show both proofing and poster printing off the Canon 8000. In the Spinola Printing Supply booth (#1178), Mitsubishi Imaging will show the DPX 4 producing Silver DigiPlate polyester plates. The DPX 4 will be making plates for the Ryobi 780 press and exhibiting 4-up applications, as well as its CIP3 and trapping capabilities. Visit www.mitsubishiimaging.com for more information. MAKO 4x CTP The MAKO 4x utilizes ECRM’s latest technological breakthroughs, including next generation patented optical technology that, with ECRM e-circuitry, delivers high-quality imaging. The MAKO 4x also employs an auto-pinch/auto-image feature for true hands-free operation after initial plate positioning. Combining reliable MAKO 4 design with ECRM’s patented optical system, the MAKO 4x offers an expanded format capability. The MAKO 4x can image formats from 228 mm x 252 mm (8.9" x 9.9") up to 660 mm x 960 mm (26.0" x 37.8"), offering resolution sets from 1200-3556 dpi and imaging over 20 Speedmaster 74 plates per hour at 2400 dpi. MAKO 8 CTP Breaking the price barrier for 8-up CTP, the MAKO 8 is ideal for multi-press environments offering formats for 2, 4, 6 and 8 page signatures. With a maximum format of 824 mm x 1143 mm and production speeds of 19 8-page plates per hour, the MAKO 8 is engineered to keep multi-press environments efficient through flexible, fast and trouble-free operation. The system can also accommodate any plate size between 824 mm x 1143 mm and 254 mm x 254 mm. The largest format provides generous space for 8-page jobs with all trim marks and color bars in position. The minimum format allows for most popular duplicator-sized presses. DPX 2 The DPX 2 is ideal for the B3 (2-up) commercial or in-plant printer. It’s fully automated for hours of unattended operation, producing high-quality press ready plates. The ECRM DPX 2 offers two different plate sizes online at the same time and is equipped with a built-in twin-bath processor. Even with the built-in processor, the footprint of the DPX 2 is only 107 cm by 102 cm (42.0" x 40.1"). Integrated register punches, for both 220 mm and 425 mm distances, ensures perfect fit on press and saves time of press adjustment. And a simple and intuitive operator interface makes daily use of the DPX 2 easy. DPX 4 The DPX 4 is a fully-automated 4-up platesetter for commercial and in-plant printers seeking superior CTP quality and performance on economical polyester plates. Capable of outputting 27 punched, processed, dried and cut-to-size plates per hour at 2540 dpi, the DPX 4 offers high-precision imaging, automatic and dynamic adjustment of the spot size resulting in high-quality output. With its dual magazine and built-in register punches, it allows users to produce plates for two different presses, uninterrupted and without any operator intervention. Even with the built-in processor, the footprint of the DPX 4 is only 140 cm by 105 cm (55.0" x 41.3") and offers integrated register punches for both 220 mm and 425mm distances.
