Chrysler Turns to GSSI for its catalog

Press release from the issuing company

Aliso Viejo, California -- Global Sourcing Solutions, Inc. (GSSI), a leading international sales, sourcing and logistics company, with a focus on printing, packaging and premium promotional products, today announced that the company has completed Chrysler, LLC’s domestic showroom catalog printing program. The recent project comes in addition to the international catalog program that was awarded to GSSI in November of 2008.

“As the North American printing industry has consolidated over the last several years, domestic printing prices have escalated and options have become fewer for print buyers here in the U.S. The decision by Chrysler to move production of domestic catalogs off-shore should be commended as visionary and at the very least, fiscally responsible,” said James Letzel, President and CEO of GSSI. “By allowing GSSI to manage the print production for their automobile catalogs and ultimately providing Chrysler with significant savings, both GSSI and Chrysler have demonstrated that global solutions are available for these important sales and marketing tools.”

With the current state of financial affairs challenging automobile makers, cutting costs and selling more cars are critical issues for the industry. Significant savings can often be found in all areas not directly related to automobile production and reducing the costs associated with printed materials can have significant impact on an automobile maker’s bottom line. While Chrysler has produced their international catalogs overseas for a number of years, this is the first time the production of their U.S. catalogs was moved offshore.

“When it comes to global solutions, low cost does not necessarily mean sacrificing quality or service,” explained Tom Vendetti, GSSI’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “In 2008, GSSI was selected to provide analysis of the global printing market, identify lower cost printers with the best fit from a quality and service standpoint as well as manage the production of both Chrysler’s domestic and the international catalogs. By allowing GSSI to handle the entire process, we were able to provide significant cost savings by producing the domestic catalogs in Asia and the international versions in Eastern Europe. These two regions of the world embrace high technology, possess state-of-the-art printing equipment and have grown to understand the needs of U.S. clients.”

GSSI’s global infrastructure and multi-lingual staff distinguishes them from the competition. As a result, GSSI has become the definitive authority on offshore print production through extensive hands-on account services, matched with a global sourcing network and managed by their own local in-country personnel.
