FUJIFILM Awarded Patent for Taskero Universe

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. has been granted a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its development of the technology used in Taskero Universe, the system and method for remotely monitoring and servicing a print system.

Fujifilm received U.S. patent number US 7,528,981 B2 for Taskero Universe, a process-based business solution designed to help printers operate more efficiently, reduce waste and increase profitability. Fujifilm's Taskero Universe delivers real time information about the status of each customer's print performance, allowing them to control and manage color production from the design and prepress stages all the way through to the pressroom.

"This U.S. patent establishes Fujifilm as a pioneer and leader in tracking, managing and maintaining the color production process and we're very proud of the fact that our team was able to bring this technology to the graphic arts industry," said Don Schroeder, Fujifilm's director of solutions development. "With Taskero Universe, we've changed the way printers monitor their color, the environmental conditions, their suppliers and overall print quality. In doing so, we're helping printers improve their processes and become more efficient."

Taskero Universe provides quality analysis, production trending as well as real-time information on the status of jobs, prepress devices and their performance, as well as on the status of the pressroom, helping printers minimize costly remakes and downtime, as well as improving complete production efficiency.

Taskero Universe also sports a newly developed unique web interface and enhanced user administration, making it more user-friendly and a powerful tool for plant and operations managers. Additionally, Taskero Universe can be customized for the printer's end user and, through a secure, password-protected interface, printers can create reports and give their customers access to whatever data they choose. All of the information is available online or can be sent as a PDF via email. The system also includes automatic email notification of status alerts.

"At Fujifilm, our goal is to develop and introduce new products and services that not only protect the integrity of the color production process, but also help our customers work more efficiently," adds Schroeder. "The development of this technology, and the recognition from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, signifies that we're doing just that."
