Press release from the issuing company

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- MGI USA, the multi-substrate (paper and plastic) digital press and finishing solution manufacturer, announced that Knight Press, a leading full service commercial print provider, has purchased a Meteor DP60 Pro four-color multi-substrate digital press. The sale and installation are handled by Paper Handling Solutions (PHS), MGI USA's dealer for Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.

Established in 1978 and based in Charleston, SC., Knight Press has built a solid reputation on excellent customer service and high quality prints. Knight has always invested in cutting edge technology and talented people, making them the logical choice for many corporate clients in the Carolinas.

As the commercial print industry evolves and becomes more personalized, customers are requiring short run and variable data printing on a broad range of materials in addition to paper and envelopes. Knight Press' owners, Scott and Maria Elliott, studied all the digital presses and compared capabilities. Following a two month evaluation, they purchased a Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press from Paper Handling Solutions. PHS, a leading supplier of print, mail and finishing equipment, is headquartered in Marietta, GA., with a branch office in Columbia, SC.

The most versatile digital press in the industry, MGI's award-winning Meteor DP60 Pro can print on the widest range of paper and plastic substrates, including matte, glossy & CS1/CS2 paper, envelopes, labels/stickers, PVC, polycarbonate, polyester, Teslin, vinyl, PET, static cling, canvas, and many others, in thicknesses ranging from 20lb bond to 130lb cover (paper) and from 4 mil up to 16 mil (plastics). The Meteor DP60 Pro also has the widest range of sheet sizes, ranging from 4 x 6" up to a full 13 x 40.15" in production mode, offers full variable data capabilities and prints up to 2400 dpi at speeds up to 3900 sheets per hour.

The MGI Meteor DP60 Pro allows Knight Press to fully serve the growing demands of the commercial print industry. In addition to the new digital press, Knight has also purchased from PHS a UV coating system and perfect binder.  These new capabilities position the company to capitalize on the new opportunities that exist in the commercial digital print market.  With an established reputation, talented staff and broad capabilities, Knight Press is programmed for continued growth and success.
