WhatTheyThink webinar shares secrets of success

Press release from the issuing company

Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink today reported that more than 500 industry professionals registered to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. 2009 Survival Guide: Staying in the Game, led by WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne and sponsored by CREO Color Servers.

The archive of this event is available here.

“Clearly, the economic situation is weighing heavily on the minds of our readers,” said Sherburne.  “During this session, the record number of attendees were rewarded with down-to-earth advice and real-world success stories shared by our panelists.  This was one of the best WhatTheyThink webinar sessions I have moderated. We appreciate the candor and support of our two expert panelists in making this an outstanding event.”

Sherburne was joined by:

  • Dave Zamorski, Chief Operating Officer, Associates Graphic Services (AGS) of Wilmington DE.  AGS was selected as a first place winner of the 2008 CIP4 International Print Production Innovation Award. Zamorski serves on the Advisory Board of the Delaware Manufactures Extension Partnership, which works with companies to implement Lean Manufacturing, ISO Certification, Six Sigma Certification and training, plus much more.  Implementation of these techniques at AGS has reduced staff by 28% over the last two years while increasing revenues, leading to higher profitability.
  • Stephen R. Zenger, President & CEO of Zenger Group, Inc.  The Zenger Group is a  family-owned collection of 3 printing and graphic arts companies in Buffalo, New York, that provides one-stop access to a broad range of print services from Photography and Prepress to Print and Mail. In addition to running the company, Zenger is currently Chairman of the Printing Industries Alliance, the New York/Northern New Jersey affiliate of the Printing Industries of America trade association. He also serves on the national board of Printing Industries of America, the board of directors and executive committee of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and is past chair of Graphic Arts Department Education Council for Erie County Community College.

“These two companies are great examples of how successful print service providers are reinventing their businesses to address today’s challenges,” said Ilana Jucha, General Manager, CREO Branded Products.  “We are pleased that Messrs. Zamorski and Zenger agreed to share their experience on this important topic.”

“As this session pointed out, the printing industry is under pressure not only from the economy, but from the structural change we have been undergoing for several years,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “This session is one of many such educational and informational services we are providing to our readers as we work together to emerge a stronger, more profitable industry.  We appreciate the fact that CREO Color Servers sponsored this important session, allowing us to make it available at no charge.”
