Zenger Group installs HP Indigo Press 5500

Press release from the issuing company

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 28, 2008 – HP today announced that the Zenger Group Printing Services Network has installed an HP Indigo press 5500 to meet growing customer demand for producing high-end variable data marketing materials and print-on-demand books.

The Zenger Group selected the HP Indigo press 5500 over competitive digital press offerings based on HP Indigo's unique ability to deliver offset quality printing and PANTONE Color matching.

"With the installation of the HP Indigo press 5500, the Zenger Group can leverage industry-leading technology to achieve profitable growth and provide high-value digital printing applications to their customers," said Rich Raimondi, vice president and general manager, U.S. Graphic Arts Organization, HP. "The HP Indigo press 5500 delivers unmatched quality and higher levels of productivity that allow companies like the Zenger Group to successfully and profitably serve a wide range of client needs."

Comprised of five divisions working together to address a variety of digital printing applications, the Zenger Group installed the new HP Indigo press 5500 as a shared resource for its Parkside Press/Ulrich Mail Advertising facility to produce applications that its existing production portfolio could not satisfy. The versatile new digital press is now used to print high-quality direct mail and variable data printing campaigns while also cost effectively producing print-on-demand books and other short-run applications.

"The HP Indigo press 5500 met all of the criteria we were looking for in a new digital press, particularly in providing us with the capabilities to produce more applications than ever before without sacrificing quality," said Stephen Zenger, president and CEO, the Zenger Group. "With this unmatched combination, the new press is our key to fulfilling new business opportunities – everything from direct mail for political campaigns to books in runs as short as one."

In addition to installing the HP Indigo press 5500, the Zenger Group is also taking advantage of the tools provided to HP Graphic Arts customers through the HP Capture Business Success Program. The Zenger Group is currently working with HP business consultants to develop a new marketing campaign promoting the expanded capabilities offered with the new press.

Capable of printing more than 1.5 million color pages per month with the look and feel of traditional offset printing, the HP Indigo press 5500 provides unmatched print quality and productivity. The press also offers print service providers the ability to profitably grow their businesses by meeting customer demand for special and spot color capabilities, HP Professional PANTONE emulation and ICC profiles and photo quality printing.
