The Environmental Quality Award is the highest recognition presented to the public by the EPA. EPA will honor this year’s Environmental Quality Award recipients at a ceremony on Thursday, April 26th at the regional EPA offices in Lower Manhattan. According to Donald Samuels, “this recognition by the EPA further encourages us to continue to ‘do the right thing’ for our community and our environment as we have done for the last 27 years – not because we have to, but because we want to leave a better world for our grandchildren’s great-grandchildren.” Samuels continued, “Sunday, April 22, 2007 marks the 37th anniversary of the first observance of Earth Day. We challenge all companies and individuals within our industry to find a way to take steps to help preserve our environment.”
