Rochester Software Associates' WebCRD at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY, September 5th, 2007 – WebCRD, RSA's award-winning "Portal to the Print Center", has been enhanced to provide even more functionality, efficiency, and value to current and new customers.  RSA is introducing version 6.2 at Graph Expo, September 9th – 12th in Chicago at McCormick Place.
"The latest version of WebCRD is a direct response to our customer's requests," observed Tim Kelly, Sr. Vice President at RSA.  "We are fortunate to have some of the most forward-thinking customers who are running their enterprises on WebCRD. They use WebCRD extensively and appreciate the focus RSA has placed on enterprise customers."
WebCRD 6.2 now gives organizations creative control over the look and feel, as well as messaging, for users through the newly introduced Login and Portal Pages. The Login Page, a standard feature in WebCRD, provides control over text and appearance allowing for esthetic integration with the existing web infrastructure. The Portal Page is an optional module that adds even more control over the content and appearance once a user logs into WebCRD.  Using standards such as CSS and XSLT, enterprises can customize the Portal Page to match their company's Intranet and can modify the messaging and content to match their business needs.  External content such as weather and stock quotes can be integrated into the Portal Page. The Portal Page is a single location that allows users to quickly and easily navigate within and outside of WebCRD – allowing for quick and easy placing of orders.
Additional user interface enhancements found in WebCRD 6.2 include priority messaging with different messages  having different customizable colors.  As an example, informational messages can appear in green while urgent messages in red to allow for simple viewing of important text.
"When our customers talk, we listen, and this feedback enables us to adapt WebCRD to how our clients do business," notes AnnMarie Link, RSA's Product Manager for WebCRD.  "This latest set of enhancements will make lives easier for our heavy duty users as well as production teams."
Another important update includes Mac/Intel support for SurePDF, RSA's genuine Adobe PDF Print Driver, based on Adobe PDF JobReady.  With SurePDF, Mac and Windows users can 'File -> Print' directly to WebCRD, and retain 100% document fidelity.  A PDF proof is generated at the user's desktop, using their native fonts and applications, and approved before being sent to WebCRD for electronic ticketing.  WebCRD 6.2 also supports Adobe Acrobat 8 and Adobe Reader 8.
WebCRD 6.2 also adds Multiple File Upload capability.  This enables power users to upload multiple documents with one click, streamlining the process for larger jobs.  RSA's focus on the enterprise is evident with this new capability, as the number of clicks to submit a job is minimized.
"Many Web-to-Print offerings focus on a shopping cart algorithm, where different finishing options require multiple clicks," adds Link.  "RSA's goal is single-click ordering, which is greatly appreciated by frequent users, common in the enterprise."
Large enterprises will also appreciate the support for multiple LDAP servers.  Acquisitions and mergers can lead to multiple LDAP user directories.  WebCRD 6.2 can now search a hierarchy of LDAP servers to enable authentication.
WebCRD has always been more than a storefront.  At the recent 2007 On Demand tradeshow in Boston WebCRD earned Best of Show for Workflow Software. With these enhancements, WebCRD is now 'Better than Best'!
These are just some of the enhancements built-in to WebCRD 6.2, which will be demonstrated at Graph Expo, September 9th – 12th, 2007, in Chicago at McCormick Place.  WebCRD 6.2 is available immediately from leading printer equipment vendors.
