Muller Martini BravoPlus T stitcher brings enhancements

Press release from the issuing company

February 19 2008 - With demanding clients throughout the pharmaceutical and health care marketplace as well as clients in several other time-sensitive industries, Innovation Printing & Communications needs print finishing equipment it can rely on to meet every deadline in the most productive manner.  Delivering those benefits is a Muller Martini BravoPlus T saddle stitcher, which was recently installed at Innovation's production facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

"The BravoPlus T stitcher has allowed us to keep all our saddle stitching in house," says Joe Walsh, Director of Sales and Marketing for Innovation Printing & Communications.  "It has also increased our turnaround."

Innovation Printing & Communications is a privately owned company with 95 full-time employees.  The company's complete line of graphic services include digital pre-press, digital printing, sheet-fed printing, and a full-service bindery including die-cutting, folding, gluing, warehousing and fulfillment services.  During the past two years Innovation has made capital investments in new equipment, improving overall efficiencies and allowing for tighter delivery schedules.  Additional investments in the company's quality control management systems have enabled Innovation to evaluate, upgrade and launch comprehensive quality control procedures in all departments.

As a highly satisfied customer who has utilized Muller Martini stitching equipment for years, Innovation Printing & Communications had an easy choice to make when it came time to add the BravoPlus T to their production floor.  "We chose Muller because of their experience, reputation, support and training, and the innovative engineering of their machines," continued Mr. Walsh.

The Muller Martini BravoPlus T saddle stitcher is capable of producing product at up to 11,000 c/hr.  It features PLC assisted controls and comfortable touchscreen operation with simple adjustment of clinchers.  BravoPlus T also comes equipped with a three-knife trimmer and due to its modular design, it can be expanded at any time to feed up to 14 signatures or 12 signatures with a cover folder feeder – meeting the requirements of growth-minded printing and binding businesses. Other key advantages include: touchless stitcher control from below; gripper and suction opening; individual 1:2/1:1 gearing; heavy-duty in-line single book trimmer; frequency controlled drive; and an easy-maintenance central lubrication system on the stitching machine and three-knife trimmer.

Production quality on the BravoPlus T saddle stitcher is closely controlled through selectable options that include: ASIR (optical automatic signature image recognition), lateral thickness measurement by side caliper, oblique sheet monitor, thickness measurement by ridge caliper, stitch monitor, trim monitor, and sequential on/off.
