HP Large Format Winning Combination for bluemedia

Press release from the issuing company

PALO ALTO, Calif., February 26, 2008 – HP today announced that bluemedia, a leading provider of vehicle, large format and environmental graphic applications, has recently expanded its portfolio of HP digital printing solutions with the installation of an HP Scitex TJ8300 Large Format Industrial Printer. The printer, which delivers high quality printing in a large format, has enhanced bluemedia's ability to provide innovative printed solutions and exceed customer expectations.

As a result of bluemedia's ability to provide clients with a variety of high-quality applications, the Phoenix Suns named the company as their Preferred Signage Provider for the 2007-2008 basketball season. Using the new HP Scitex TJ8300 Printer, bluemedia created larger than life, eye-catching signage for two 50 foot stairwell pillars in the U.S. Airways Center by printing 24 146" x 50" tiles depicting a city building designed to cross-promote the Phoenix Suns and bluemedia.

"Print shops on the cutting edge of digital technology like bluemedia understand the necessity of providing innovative, high-quality applications in an array of formats to meet customer demands and remain competitive," said Gal Barak, director and general manager, HP Scitex Americas. "By leveraging the versatility and print quality of HP Graphic Arts solutions, bluemedia is able to deliver one-of-a-kind printed material and earn the business of several high-profile clients, including the Phoenix Suns."

Established in Tempe, Ariz., bluemedia purchased the company's first printer, an HP Designjet 2500 Printer, in 1997. Today, the company continues to turn to HP digital printing solutions and currently uses four printers from HP's large format portfolio as a direct result of the consistent quality and proven reliability of HP technology and the superior customer service and support.

"HP continues to develop digital solutions that fit our needs and allow us to continue growing our business and expanding into new markets," said Jared Smith, president, bluemedia. "The HP Scitex TJ8300 offers astounding turnaround times, allowing us to complete higher volume jobs and achieve maximum return on investment. We estimate that the printer needs to run for a mere 19 minutes per month to make the payment."

One of the latest additions to HP's large format portfolio, the HP Scitex TJ8300 combines industry-leading productivity, a user-friendly design and superb output quality on a variety of wide-format applications. The printer offers six-color printing with HP solvent inks up to 600dpi and at speeds up to 400sqm (4,306sqft) per hour.

"We were very impressed with the results achieved by bluemedia for the stairwell project which was a challenge to design and install," said Scott Coleman, vice president of partnership activation, Phoenix Suns. "They demonstrated incredible creativity and imagination and delivered high quality results which have garnered significant attention from the Phoenix Suns fans."
