Freeport Press to Install EFI Management Solutions to Increase Productivity and Profits

Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif. – Jan. 16, 2007 – EFI, the world leader in color digital print servers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions, today announced that Freeport Press has purchased EFI Hagen Prograph, EFI PrintFlow and EFI Auto-Count. A publication and direct mail printing company specializing in magazine printing, Freeport Press has been in business in Ohio for 126 years. Freeport Press is a current EFI PSI user, but decided to add a more powerful management system and additional solutions to position the business for its explosive double-digit growth. Prograph’s integration with Hagen offers comprehensive planning capabilities – including versioning, complex imposition, bindery planning and distribution tools – that will enable Freeport to make more informed business decisions and streamline their production process. With the addition of PrintFlow Dynamic Scheduling and Auto-Count Direct Machine Interface (DMI), their planning and shop floor data collection capabilities will be greatly enhanced. Freeport is also planning to implement both the conventional and the new price list estimating system when released in early 2007. “As part of an initiative to update our management and production processes, we’re pleased to have selected a full suite of EFI products that will allow us to handle our current and future growth with ease,” said David Pilcher, owner and president of Freeport Press. “We look forward to implementing Prograph and Hagen first, and then bringing the other systems on-line, all working together to provide greater value for our customers.” “Freeport Press has embraced technology and credits it with their strong growth, so they definitely understand the benefits of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). When their EFI suite of solutions are up and running, all of their production and management processes will connect via a seamless network enabling them to optimize assets to achieve higher profitability,” said JD Bagnell, director of product management at EFI.
