Lightning Source Installs LX Stack on HP Indigo w3250

Press release from the issuing company

Burlington, MA (January 10, 2007) - Lightning Source Inc., the leading provider of demand-based book manufacturing and distribution solutions to the book industry, has successfully installed the first integration of the Lasermax Roll Systems LX Stack feeding and finishing system with the HP Indigo w3250 digital color press. At their print facility in La Vergne, TN, Lightning Source uses the LX Stack to feed rolls of paper to the HP Indigo w3250 and to cut and stack printed color book blocks for binding and trimming. "As long-time users of Lasermax Roll Systems pre/post equipment for our black & white digital printer equipment in the United States and the United Kingdom, we knew we wanted the same feeding and finishing partner to support our web fed color equipment," said J. Kirby Best, President and CEO, Lightning Source. "We've always received excellent customer service and support from Lasermax Roll Systems." The LX Stack solution at Lightning Source includes an LX550 Unwind, LX562 Cutter and LX566 Stacker with conveyor, configured for the w3250 taut-web press. LX Stack forms cut sheet stacks for near-line or off-line finishing, and also has a bypass function to allow delivery of sheets to an in-line finishing device such as a folder or stitcher, for those needing flexible print on demand configurations. LX Stack handles forms up to 18" long, in a broad range of basis weights down to 11-pound bond (40 gsm).
